Advanced Leadership

The Mentor Program is an intensive, year-long process for establishing a substantive mentoring relationship between a competent individual in the organization and another individual who has been identified as having potential for leadership in the future. The program provides instruction for both the Mentor and Mentee in increasing their personal effectiveness through the Interpersonal Technology system, and provides numerous opportunities for self-discovery and developmental growth, particularly for the Mentee.

Throughout the entire program program, the Mentors are guided by the consultant in how to establish a focused relationship with their Mentee, including a structure for the sessions between Mentee and Mentor in order to produce the greatest opportunity for insight and accountability for achieving their developmental goals. In addition, the consultant maintains an ongoing relationship with both Mentee and Mentor to provide continued support, direction, and feedback throughout the process.

"In my opinion, the key to our culture was the Interpersonal Technology program....
... after seeing it firsthand, it's hard to imagine running a company or leading a team without the application of the Interpersonal Technology program."

"Dr. Gwaltney's Interpersonal Technology method so profoundly affected these executives that they recently began to deliver the program to their direct reports and their staffs.
... I honestly believe that this method can be not only career changing, but life changing, as the concepts and skills are transferable to all interpersonal interactions...."

Developing Team Skills

Interpersonal Technology is a unique and powerfully effective approach to helping individuals and groups improve the quality of their interactions. IT focuses on identifying major strengths in three important work areas:

  • PEOPLE -- How one enters into relationships.
  • PATH -- How decisions are made.

  • PRODUCT -- How decisions are implemented.

The following additional course offerings utilize the Interpersonal Technology System as a foundation for discussion and training in a variety of areas important to organizational success:

These three areas are examined in terms of one’s preferred PACE -- the speed or cadence at which an individual operates most comfortably. Working with the Interpersonal Technology system offers an opportunity for insight into our own behavioral preferences, and gives new understanding to the behavior we see in others. The system utilizes a self-administered inventory, and is organized for ease of understanding into eight skill preferences and eight major styles. The program includes specific keys to quickly identify the skill preferences of others, and to recognize the non-verbal indicators of people’s likely behavior in a given situation. Equipping oneself with this knowledge provides an opportunity to make more informed behavioral choices, which ultimately result in improved overall effectiveness of one’s interactions, both personally and professionally.
